ABOUT US
MISSION
Angels Surviving Cancer is a breast cancer survivorship organization whose mission is to enlighten, educate and address the true and everyday obstacles impacting those who have been newly diagnosed. Angels seek to encourage, empower and educate the community of the importance of assisting those who are undergoing treatment and beyond by addressing the entire spectrum of needs through financial, emotional and spiritual support as well as advocacy.
Angels provide those facing cancer with a much-needed sense of control over their situation by assisting them with maintaining their quality of life and developing coping mechanisms while fighting cancer.
VISION
Our goal is to understand and mitigate the root causes of the disparate outcomes for women of color in breast health through grass-roots efforts and community engagement. By lending our lived experiences to individuals who may otherwise remain silent allows our unique approach to reveal information that researchers and other organizations may have otherwise overlooked. We aim to synchronize and maximize our impact through collaborations with the medical community and other non-profits, to reduce the number of newly diagnosed cases within Houston and neighboring counties. We promote an atmosphere and environment of inclusiveness, for we know that the fight for fair and equal access to quality breast health services impacts us all. We honorably and humbly serve our community and our SISTERS.
“WE ARE ANGELS.WE DON’T FLY, WE SOAR.”
